In 2005, he was appointed CEO of the City of Joondalup, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the city into a benchmark local government and a thriving global city.  \n \nIn November 2023, Dr Hunt was appointed as the temporary CEO for the Shire of Donnybrook Balingup, bringing his extensive experience to guide the Shire's operations and collaboration with Councillors.  \n \nPresident Smith is confident Dr Hunt will manage the Shire\u2019s operations and strategic plans throughout the coming months. \n\n\u201cCouncil is pleased to welcome Dr Garry Hunt PSM to Ashburton and join one of WA\u2019s largest local governments by land mass.
