Shire of Ashburton Public Place and Local Government Property Local Law 2023

Notice is hereby given pursuant to s.3.12(6) of the Local Government Act 1995 (Act) that Council resolved at its Ordinary Meeting on 4 April 2023 to make the abovementioned local law in accordance with the requirements of the Act.

The purpose of this local law is to regulate the care, control, and management of property of and under the care, control and management of the Shire including thoroughfares.

The effect is that some Shire property is set aside for particular uses, some activities are allowed only under a permit or under a determination, and others are restricted or prohibited. The local law also establishes offences for inappropriate behaviour in or on Shire property.

This local law commences operation on 12 May 2023. The local law may be viewed on the Shire’s website at www.ashburton.wa.gov.au. A copy may be inspected or obtained from the Shire’s Administration Offices.
