On a Tuesday and Thursday where we will get almost 30-40 kids attend training. Stormy does a wonderful job managing a huge group with ages from 7yrs-16yrs.

Brian Hinkley, Tom Price: Brian has had a huge contribution providing the opportunity for Wakathuni Community children to be involved in football in town. Brian helped with organising the bus to run out to the community to pick the children up and bring them into town for Thursday night trainings with the Townsite Eagles. He's also helped to organise bus runs for Friday and Saturday games.

What was once Volunteer of the Month has rebranded into Ashburton All Stars, a monthly initiative to recognise the people and groups going the extra mile in our Shire.

Do you know someone in your community who deserves recognition for their outstanding Good Samaritan efforts?

Whether it's a dedicated coach at the local sports club or someone who goes above and beyond with random acts of kindness, we want to hear about it.

Nominate your Ashburton All Star today to ensure those who make a positive impact in our community are properly celebrated. No deed is too small.

Some examples of an All Star could include;

  • This community member stopped to help my child who had fallen off their bike on their way to school.
  • This community member provided amazing customer service.
  • This community member went above and beyond to assist with the planning and delivery of the annual tournament.

For more information about the kind of values we are celebrating, read our Strategic Community Plan 2022-2032 here.
