About the Airport

The Onslow Airport is located approximately three kilometres south of the Onslow town site. Onslow Road forms the western boundary of the airport and provides direct access to the Onslow Townsite, ANSIA and connection to the North West Coastal Highway approximately 75 kilometres to the south.

The Onslow Airport is owned and operated by the Shire of Ashburton and is fully licensed by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Onslow Airport is a Security Controlled Airport.

In addition to daily flight services to Perth, Onslow Airport also caters to General Aviation Private Charter flights and Royal Flying Doctor Services.

Parking

A free car park is available for short and long-term parking. The airport has a passenger set-down area, the driver must remain with the vehicle at all times.

A parking / Movement request form is required to be submitted for all aircraft over MTOW 5700kg 48hours prior to arrival. Parking for aircraft over 5700kg is subject to availability.

Catching your flight

Flight times are subject to change. Please contact your airline directly for up-to-date flight information and scheduling.

Airlines recommend that you present for check-in no later than 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

The baggage drop off closes 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. You will not be allowed to board a plane with your luggage if you arrive later.

Safety and Security

We take safety and security very seriously at Onslow Airport – government security and safety protocols are in place and adhered to.

Passenger screening is performed to federal government standards using x-ray machines, walk through metal detectors, and handheld metal detectors. Passengers and baggage are also subjected to random explosive trace detection checks.

Checked bags are screened in accordance with government regulations.

Closed circuit TV cameras operate throughout the Airport precinct, Terminal and car park.

Dangerous goods – items or substances that may endanger the safety others – are prohibited.  Please contact your airline directly for information on their prohibited and allowed items.

Baggage is not to be left unattended at any time within any area of the airport precinct. Any unattended items found at the airport will be treated as suspicious.  Unattended items should be reported to airport staff.

Any comments or jokes made regarding weapons, explosive devices or passenger security are taken seriously and may result in prosecution and/or refusal of carriage by the airline.

Remember, while some security measures can seem an inconvenience, they are in place to protect everyone.  Please cooperate with the requests and directions of screening officers, airport Operations staff and airline officials

Passengers and airport visitors are warned that all threats and comments made about the carrying of weapons or explosives - whether intended as a joke or not – will be taken seriously and may result in refusal of carriage onto the flight and prosecution by the Australian Federal Police.

Food and drink

The Onslow Airport Kiosk is located outside the Departures Lounge of the Airport Terminal is the perfect place to stop before or after your flight. The bistro offers inside and outside seating areas and sells a range of hot and cold beverages, hot food, sandwiches, snacks, and confectionery.

Passengers and visitors to the Airport also have access to vending machines in the Terminal offering a range of chilled beverages and snacks. The machines accept notes and coins only.
