Green Waste Collection 

The Shire of Ashburton provides a free yearly green waste collection for residents in Tom Price, Paraburdoo and Onslow. These collections help to minimise the risk of flying debris during cyclonic weather events.

Register for Green Waste Collection 

As Green Waste Collection will be conducted by hand, residents are asked to register their homes if they have green waste they would like collected. Registration details will open closer to the collection date.

What is classified as green waste?  

  • Tree branches
  • Palm fronds
  • Weeds
  • Grass clippings
  • Leaves

 

What is not classified as green waste?

  • White goods
  • Plastic
  • Flammable objects
  • Batteries
  • Household rubbish
  • Commercial waste

 

How do I place green waste on my kerb for collection?

  • Stack items in a location that is easily accessible for hand collection.
  • Do not place items on top of water meters, footpaths, taps, Telstra pits or within 2 metres of green mini pillars (green domes).
  • If possible, tree pruning waste must be tied into bundles no more than 2m long and no more than 10kg each.
  • Please do not obstruct pathways or infrastructure.
  • Place loose leaves and other debris in a cardboard box.
