The Shire of Ashburton boasts a regional location marked by rich natural resources and a rugged landscape. As a result of the area's expansive terrain and the specific land needs of cattle, incidents of roaming herds have become a concern for both residents and local authorities in Tom Price and Paraburdoo.
This often results in cattle being in and around town as well as on the roads. These cattle are generally wild and not used to close interaction with humans.
