During the Ordinary Council Meeting held in Paraburdoo on 15 October, Council unanimously decided to join the Department of Transport in a project to preserve the health of Onslow's coastal environment.
The Drone Coastal Survey Project's main objective is to capture high-resolution footage of changes to the landscape, so we can bridge the informational gap about how climate change and severe weather events are eroding or damaging the community we call home.
The Project will increase the Shire's drone capacity, and will also see us engage with Aboriginal Ranger groups to assist with their training in this key area. We look forward to the results of this project paving the way to a more environmentally sustainable future.
