The Shire of Ashburton will mark Australia Day tomorrow with a range of special acknowledgements at the Summer Pool Party.
Tomorrow, four local residents will join thousands of migrants across the country to become Australia’s newest citizens during the 75th anniversary of Australian citizenship.
This is an unforgettable moment for everyone involved, from the new citizens pledging their loyalty to Australia and starting an exciting new chapter in their lives, to us welcoming them to the community during a special year marking 75 years of Australian citizenship.
The Citizen of the Year will also be announced in each town, a chance to honour the individuals in our community who consistently go above and beyond in serving those around them.
