Proposed Shire of Ashburton Local Laws

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 3.12 of the Local Government Act 1995, that the Council of the Shire of Ashburton resolved on 11 July 2023 to commence making the following local laws for the district.
Public Places and Local Government Property Amendment Local Law 2023
The purpose of this proposed local law is to amend the Shire of Ashburton Public Places and Local Government Property Local Law 2023 to correct minor grammatical and formatting errors, clause and schedule references, clarify the process to dispose of lost property, update inconsistences in certain definitions, exclude cats from the application of clause 8.2 and for other minor consequential amendments. The effect of amendments proposed will be to ensure that this local law is effective and functional, as first intended.
Bush Fire Brigades Local Law 2023
The purpose of this proposed local law is to make provisions about the organisation, establishment, maintenance and equipment of bush fire brigades. The effect of this local law is to have clear guidance about the management of bush fire brigades within the Shire of Ashburton.
These proposed local laws may be inspected at the Shire of Ashburton offices or on the Shire’s website www.ashburton.wa.gov.au.
