Paraburdoo Cenotaph Refurbishment

The new Paraburdoo Cenotaph is finished with only a few minor details to be completed. The ANZAC redevelopment project was initiated to enhance and renew the existing park, while providing a restored and updated ANZAC Memorial Plaza.
The tender was advertised in 2023 and was awarded to Byblos Constructions who were responsible for bringing the memorial to life.
Shire President Audra Smith stated what an important milestone the new cenotaph was in celebrating Ashburton’s rich history.
“ANZAC Day is an important time of commemoration for the Shire of Ashburton, a time to honour those who served in our armed forced throughout history and in the present day. It is my sincere hope that this memorial serves as a lasting reminder of their sacrifice, both in Paraburdoo and across our other town and celebrates the lives of our countrymen and women."
“It’s also a significant investment in our town’s infrastructure and is a marked contribution to the rich and diverse culture and history we have here in the Shire of Ashburton,” stated President Smith.
We look forward to utilising the stunning new vista as part of the Paraburdoo 2024 ANZAC Day March and Gunfire Breakfast on Thursday, April 25. For more information on the event, click here; https://bit.ly/3UgVgr8
