Rates notices are currently being printed and will be in the mail shortly. It is important to be aware that Landgate have conducted a revaluation of Gross Rental Values (GRV) on all properties this year, which will have a varied impact on people’s rates. Depending on the change in your property’s GRV, your rates may increase or decrease more than the average.
If you feel that your property has been valued incorrectly, you should lodge an objection with the Valuer-General. There will be information included in your rates package as to how to lodge an objection through Landgate.
The differential rates model, as adopted by the Shire of Ashburton Council, results in an average rate increase of 2% for all properties. However your rates may be above or below this, depending on your property’s GRV.
Please read the information provided in your rates package, which further outlines the rate process.
