The Shire of Ashburton is proud to unveil its new youth-focused brand, marking a significant step forward in our commitment to fostering a sense of belonging, empowerment and representation for young people across Onslow, Pannawonica, Paraburdoo and Tom Price.
Aligned with the goals of the Youth Strategy 2023-2025, this new brand aims to create a strong, unified identity that reflects the unique voices and aspirations of our youth. It represents the Shire’s ongoing dedication to building connected and inclusive communities, as outlined in the five key focus areas of the strategy:
Spaces and Activities: Offering safe, accessible, and engaging places for young people.
Health and Wellbeing: Enhancing mental, physical, and emotional support.
Career Pathways and Development: Broadening education and employment opportunities.
Youth Empowerment: Providing platforms for young people to contribute and lead.
Youth Representation and Identity: Promoting visibility and connection.
President Audra Smith expressed her excitement for the initiative.
“The new youth brand, Ashburton Youth, represents our commitment to our young residents. It’s about ensuring they feel seen, heard and supported. This brand and the ongoing strategy reinforce our belief in the potential of our youth to shape a vibrant future for Ashburton.
“The youth have been part of the design process from day one, and this has purely come from what ‘Ashburton means to me’, and today I am proud to share this new blueprint for all youth,” she said.
The Shire collaborated with local youth and creative partners to design this brand, a brand for youth, by youth. It will be visible in future events, programs and communication, with the logo serving as a symbol of inclusivity and community spirit, differentiating the other demographics in our Shire. AY! (Ashburton Youth), highlights awesome youth, authentic youth and adventurous youth, all of the aspects making up this important age group in our Shire.
The Shire invites all residents to celebrate this milestone and engage with the many youth initiatives planned under this exciting new identity. Follow our Facebook page to watch the brand unfold.
